SMVDU has begun its admission process for the academic session 2024. JEE Main session 2 result 2024 has been announced for paper 1. Candidates can visit NTA website at jeemain.nta.ac.in to check their results online. JoSAA registration will take place for the qualified candidates from June 10, 2024.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has been established under the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Act, (Act. No. XII) in the year 1999. According to NIRF ranking 2022, SMVDU has been ranked 16th in the Architecture category and 101 in the Engineering category. The university is accredited with B++ by NAAC. With five faculties and 15+ academic departments, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers a plethora of programmes. The SMVDU courses include B.Tech, MBA, M.Tech, M.Sc, MA, PhD and so on.
SMVDU admission to UG and PG courses are based on CUET. However, for courses like B.Tech, M.Tech or MBA, candidates are selected based on other tests too. For SMVDU PhD admissions, candidates having national or state-level qualifications like UGC/ CSIR NET, SLET, GATE, etc. are directly shortlisted for interview. Others need to appear for a research entrance test conducted by SMVDU. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University consists of five faculties consisting of 15 schools, offering seven undergraduate, 11 Postgraduate and seven integrated programs besides PhD and post-doctoral research. SMVDU admission 2024 is ongoing for UG and PG courses. Admission seekers need to qualify for JEE Main for admission in BTech courses. Candidates who get a valid score can further take part in the admission process. JEE Main Session 2 result has been released on April 24, 2024.
Applications to different SMVDU courses are done only in online mode. The link for the same is available on the official website. In the case of the SMVDU admission process 2024, for UG and PG courses, candidates must first register for the CUET on the NTA website. A CUET score is mandatory for SMVDU courses admission. However, for MBA, students are shortlisted both on the basis of CUET and CAT, MAT or CMAT score.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi admission for UG, PG and doctoral courses is given below:
- SMVDU UG Admission: Register for the specific UG course on the official CURAJ website by clearing CUET. Attend counselling on the notified date. Seek admission after final selection by presenting proof of eligibility and fees payment. For B.Tech admission JEE scores are required.
- SMVDU PG Admission: Check course wise eligibility and appear for the CUET. Register for the desired PG course on the university website. Attend counselling on the notified date. Seek admission after final selection by presenting proof of eligibility and fees payment. For SMVDU MBA admission CMAT, CAT or MAT scores are required. Similarly M.Tech admission requires a JEE or GATE score.
- SMVDU PhD Admission: Appear for the research entrance examination. Attend the interview or viva if shortlisted. Seek admission on the notified date and time if selected. Apart from the entrance test and viva, a national or state level qualification like UGC/ CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET, GATE etc. is also required. Candidates with these qualifications need not appear for the PhD entrance examination.
SMVDU Cut Off
SMVDU B.Tech cut off 2024 will be released by JoSAA during counselling in June 2024 on its official website. The JoSAA will release cut off in the form of opening and closing ranks. Meanwhile, candidates can check the SMVDU cut off 2023 for B.Tech (round 6 and 5) mentioned below in the table.

SMVDU results for semester exams are released on the official website of the university, whereas, entrance examination result or seat allocation result are released on SMVDU samarth. It is an online counselling platform of the university for admission in UG and PG courses. Candidates who want to apply for admission in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are required to register at SMVDU samarth.
Steps to Register at SMVDU Samarth for Admission 2024
- Visit smvdu.samarth.edu.in and create an account.
- After creating an account, log in.
- Click on new registration and fill the SMVDU registration form.
- After that select the programme of your choice and pay the registration fee.
- Then, submit the form to complete the registration process.
SMVDU Admission Dates 2024
For SMVDU BTech admission, JEE Main score is accepted. JEE Main 2024 result for session 2 has been declared by NTA on April 24, 2024. Now NTA will proceed with JoSAA counselling. JoSAA registration and choice filling will start from June 10, 2024 tentatively and the seat allocation will start in the last week of June 2024.

As you have mentioned you have scored 235 in CUET, Your chances of admission are difficult as the B.Tech cut-off is expected to go higher this year. However, you should not lose hope and give it a try.
